![]() For most of my dedicated (up until maybe 1-1.5 weeks from my test), I really focused on UWorld because that was the advice I got from literally EVERYONE I talked to. ![]() Surprisingly, UWorld (or just doing practice questions in general) was not the most effective/helpful study method for me. I watched countless BNB videos, read through almost all of First Aid, watched all of Pathoma, watched almost all of Sketchy pharm and micro, did UWorld questions every day, made or unsuspended Anki cards of my incorrects, and listened to Goljan and Divine Intervention podcasts every day of dedicated. Whichever method you’ve seen on reddit, I’ve tried it. In dedicated, I tried A LOT of different study methods. I had done very minimal step prep up until this point, and still had significant gaps in my content knowledge. ![]() I really started studying for step in early March, with dedicated officially starting 4 weeks before my test date. I came back from winter break and stopped studying for step for a month or so since we still had some didactics to go through. This was definitely not very helpful for me, since I retained next to nothing of what I read in FA and Pathoma/Sketchy escaped my mind very fast since I was not using Anki to retain it. I started by reading First Aid and watching Pathoma and Sketchy. I started really studying for step during winter break (4 months from my test date). I’ve never posted or been active on this subreddit but it was immensely helpful to scroll through during/before dedicated to put together my study plan, so I wanted to share a bit of my journey as well. Second year of med school was the hardest year of my life so far, with a ton of personal things coming up in my life all at once (death in family, health conditions, relationship problems, mental health issues). Wanted to make this post to document my journey and share what (somehow) worked for me. Warning: super long post ahead, tried to section things off
